Welcome to Our Post
Since our charter in XX 19xx, Rollo-Calcaterra Post #15 has been welcoming veterans from all branches of our Armed Forces. Joining our post enables you to continue to serve your country, community & God. Our mission is to implement the goals embodied in our preamble.
The next regular meeting will be on September 16th, 2014 at 8:00 P.M. The House and Officers’ meeting will be on September 23th, 2014 at 7:00 P.M. All are invited to attend. Remember to fly our flag September 1st, (Labor Day) and September 11th, (Patriot Day).
Please keep our service men and women in our prayers. Pray for their safe and speedy return.
FIRST VICE—Roger read the name of a prospective new member. This was the first reading. He is Patrick Trout (Air Force), He served for 24 years.
CHAPLAIN—Tom reported that Charlie Oldani injured his knee in a fall. Get well card was sent to him.
50/50—The two winners were Mike Licavoli (twice), and Al Lancaster. They donated their winnings back to the WWI Memorial.
HOUSE PRESIDENT—Roger reminded the membership that the 21st of September is our fall BBQ. He stated that Al Lancaster was looking into purchasing pop up tents to be used instead of the one large tent used at previous BBQs. The reason is that the large tent is too hard to put up, plus it is getting harder to find people to do it. We will as in the past need help putting up and taking down the tents. We also need help on the day of the BBQ.
GOOD OF THE LEGION—This is a reminder that as in the past we will be giving out chits at the VA Hospital. Also as in the past we will meet in front of Bldg. 53 at 10:00 A.M on the morning of September 17th. Please try to make it if you can. Wear your service cap.
Commander, Robert Oldani

COMMANDER—Our new commander, Robert Oldani wished to thank all that supported him in this tough election.
ADJUTANT—Skip presented a flag and a certificate stating that said flag had flown over Jefferson Barracks Cemetery to the out going Commander Lou Venegoni. They were turned over to the Historian to be hung at the post.
With this being the installation of new Officers we had no other reports.
We had County Executive Charlie Dooley as a guest. He presented a Proclamation to the Post for the job we did on the World War I Memorial. This proclamation will be hung in a place of honor.
The 2015 dues are now being collected by Jim. The dues will still be $35.00, but there will also be a $10.00 assessment added to the dues to help defray the World War I Memorial fund debt. This means you will pay $45.00 this year. Please all help to lower this debt. If you are a paid up for life, member you will still be asked to please pay the $10.00 assessment . If the debt can be paid off this year the dues will return to $35.00 next year. Thanks to all.
Sorry for the abbreviated newsletter we will return to normal next month.
